Book Review: Jesus Over Everything

Jesus Over Everything
Uncomplicating the Daily Struggle to Put Jesus First
by Lisa Whittle

Thomas Nelson

Pub Date 24 Mar 2020

I am reviewing a copy of Jesus Over Everything through Thomas Nelson and Netgalley:

In this book Whittle reminds us that just because our lives may not be working for us right now, does not mean we need a new life.  Sometimes all we need to do is let God run our lives.

As Christian Women our desire is to put Jesus first in our lives.  We know too that when we do put Christ first the rest will fall into place.  But often life feels complicated and the demands of our daily life , leaves us having our priorities out of order and our walk with Christ and therefore our lives suffer.

Lisa Whittle points out too that overworking can be a big issue as well, reminding us that if we felt we were good enough we would not feel the need to work ourselves into the ground.

Jesus Over Everything reminds us too of the importance of being real, to go ahead and admit the pain we are feeling, the joy, the grief.  We are reminded too that we should be who we are, the person God made us to be.

We are reminded too of the importance of loving over judgement, Love is more powerful than judgement and should be more freely given.

We are reminded too that as Christians we can join the bandwagon of defeat, or we can stand up and make a difference.  We need to stop becoming so affected by events that we become ineffective in making a difference.

Whittle reminds us too that love is stronger than self loathing.

We are reminded that Jesus is not against your creativity but for it.  He gave us the gift and wants us to use it, in a way that glorifies him.

The importance of wisdom over knowledge is emphasized as well.

Jesus Over Everything encourages the reader to pursue Jesus for life, grow deep roots in Faith and it encourages us to walk strong in a world that often feels as if it has gone crazy.

I give Jesus Over Everything five out of five stars!

Happy Reading!
