Bethany House Publishing and Netgalley provided me with a copy of Voices of the Ancient to review:
The eldest son of a Levite and a Philistine, Avidan is torn between his obligation to his family legacy and his desire for something more. A local enemy attack gives him the chance to fight for King Saul with his cousins. Avidan refuses to leave one of the cousins behind when he goes missing during the battle.
In Manasseh, Keziah is the daughter of an important clan chief. As she faces forced marriage to a man decades older than her, she runs, hoping to find refuge with her mother's family.
A pact is made between Avidan and Keziah to travel together during their journeys and survive the dangers that surround them. To survive, they must not only rely on each other, but also learn to trust the true and eternal King of Israel to guide their every step.
I give Voices of the Ancient five out of five stars!
Happy Reading!
